We are excited to announce that the 2026 Run for a Reason Fun Run will be held Thursday Oct 15, 2026!  This event is a wonderful opportunity for our students to come together, enjoy physical activity, build school spirit, and raise essential funds for EKHLA—all while experiencing community and EKHLA PTO’s Health Fair.

 

What Is the Fun Run?

The EKHLA Fun Run is a school-wide event where students run, jog, or walk around campus. It’s a fun-filled day designed to encourage fitness, teamwork, and community pride!

Event Details

• Date: Thursday, October 15, 2026
• Time: 8:15 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.
• Goal: $40,000
• Location: EKHLA Parking Lot (on campus)
• What to Bring: EKHLA Tree Spirit Shirt, athletic shorts, running/walking shoes, water bottle, and lots of energy!

Purpose of the Fun Run:

The purpose of EKHLA’s Fun Run and PTO Health Fair is to educate and empower students to make informed choices about their health and well-being. Through this fun, interactive event, students learn the value of healthy habits—such as regular exercise, balanced nutrition, and good hygiene—while building school spirit and community.

 

Why Are We Raising Funds?

This year, proceeds will support:

• Continued campus improvements & security
• Field trips that expand learning beyond the classroom
• Technology upgrades for students and teachers

Your support helps us provide these vital resources and enrich every child’s experience at EKHLA.

 

How Can You Help?

1. Pledge Support – Encourage your child to reach out to friends, family, and neighbors for pledges. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference! $100 individual goal.  
2. Volunteer – We need helping hands for setup, water and banana stations, lap-hole punching, and cleanup. If you can assist, please contact [email protected]
3. Cheer Us On – Join us the day of the event to celebrate and cheer for our students! Small posters are welcome, but please remain behind the caution tape for safety.
4. Spread the Word – Share our event with your community and on social media to help us meet our goals. (Individual goal: $100 | Class goal: $1,800)

• In person with cash or check at the EKHLA office

Prizes will be awarded to eligible students who meet the $100/student goal by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. Prizes are earned in $25 increments—the more you raise, the more you earn!

• (K–2): Stuffed Animal Day – Friday, Nov. 6, 2026
• (3–8): One Homework Pass – Anytime

$50 Raised

• All of the above, plus:
• (K–2): Pajama Day – Friday, Nov. 13, 2026
• (3–8): Free Dress Day – Friday, Nov. 13, 2026

$75 Raised

• All of the above, plus:
• (K–2): Lunch with a Friend (same grade level) – Date TBD
• (3–8): Additional Homework Pass – Anytime

$100 Raised

• All of the above, plus:
• One Smencil
• Extra Free Dress Day (K–8) – Friday, Nov. 20, 2026
• Entry to win a $25 Target Gift Card

Class Prize

• Classes that raise $1,800 will earn a Popcorn & Movie Party – Friday, Nov. 20, 2026

Bonus Drawings

• Students in K–2, 3–5, and 6–8 who meet the $100 goal will each be entered into 3 separate drawings for a $25 Target Gift Card.
